Guava shell
Guava shells are the hollowed outer flesh of guavas after the central seeds have been removed. Here the recipe uses casquitos already cooked in syrup, not discarded raw peel.
Caribbean uses
Casquitos de guayaba are served as a sweet, often with white cheese. Their curved shape holds a small spoonful of cheese or yogurt for a simple plated dessert.
Preparation and storage
For ready-made casquitos, check sweetness and drain excess syrup. Refrigerate after opening according to the label and use clean utensils.

At the table
The tender fruit and tangy cheese create a complete contrast with very few components.
